Resource Page

Thank you for volunteering with us! We want to make your time working with The Reading People and our students as fun, stress-free, and rewarding as possible. Check out the list to the right to find some useful links and resources to help you as you work with your student.

Contact the volunteer coordinator at volunteercoordinator@thereadingpeople.org for assistance.

Access some of our favorite study materials from home! Find basic reading, ESL, and GED materials, all selected by our staff specialist. This page is passcode protected so only our students and tutors have access to it. If you've lost the code, email volunteercoordinator@thereadingpeople.org for assistance.

Reserve a space to work with your student at our building. Each room can be reserved in blocks of one hour at a time. If you are unable to reserve a room ahead of time, we still allow for walk-ins, but you may not be given the room of your choice. Please contact the volunteer coordinator if you need assistance in booking a room.

3

Not able to work at our building? No problem! Click the link above to be directed to a list of other local locations and their hours to find a study spot that works best for you and your student.

4

Volunteers are required to complete a monthly reporting form covering student progress and to record hours volunteered at the end of each month. It’s important for us to know the hours you are meeting with your student so we can ensure that all students who are matched with a tutor are actively meeting with them.
